A low cost, easy to use point-of-care device for breast cancer early detection

NANOAPTA is a low cost (300$) and will help women to make the periodic check for their breasts easily at home with a simple minimal invasive procedure and get the results within just 30 minutes. Currently, NANOAPTA is used just for research and development purposes (data collection and analysis). The device had been used by women with breast cancer and healthy women (aged from 30-40 years).

Women put a drop of blood on the surface of the electrochemical biosensor, her2 protein which is a biomarker for the most aggressive type of the breast cancer will bind with high-affinity aptamer immobilized on the gold nanoparticles modified working electrode. The electrochemical biosensor will convert the biological interaction into an electrical signal (current) after that a well-designed miniaturized potentiostat will read the current signals, and according to the electrochemical analysis and a predefined data the concentration of her2 protein will be defined. If the her2 concentration is higher than the normal range, the device will show a positive result, otherwise, the result will be negative.
