INNOVATION:
Machine learning for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces to enable affordable connectivity and scalable wireless infrastructure
Asmaa is driven by the thought of making wireless connectivity accessible to all. To this end, she is applying Machine Learning in wireless systems, especially those that use reflective surfaces to rapidly scale wireless systems, while reducing cost and thus, increasing accessibility of under-connected populations.
Her innovation lies in proposing an efficient machine-learning method that is data-driven to learn the optimal system parameters of deploying RISs in wireless networks.
The solution extends the coverage of wireless networks, making them more scalable, accessible, easy to deploy, and cost-effective. Novel contribution is expected to have a broad and significant impact in enabling future 6G wireless systems.
